I have osteo-arthritis in my left knee. I find ice the best to reduce swelling while the limb is elevated above hip height. I also take 1500 mg of Glucosamine each day which greatly helps with the pain. I really notice an increase in pain if I forget to take it! Check out Bioglan true strength glucosamine.

Everyone is different. I can’t stand cold. It’s heat for me. And I take anti inflammatories. Usually ibuprophen or even a prescription if it gets bad. Of course, I am older and need more help.
